Let's Talk About... Final Fantasy XIV

Ah yes, the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV. Let's talk about it!

So I'm still fairly new to the game, only starting January 2024. The only reason I was playing the game in the first place was to practice voice acting. As me and two others would play through the main story from the beginning, voice acting the lines that weren't already voiced. This would all be streamed over on my Twitch, but overall, it was a fun experience, and I also got to interact and attract some of my friends and even viewers who've played the game longer than I have!

As we kept playing, we would then form what in other games call a Guild, Clan, etc. but in this game it's referred to as a Free Company. So, Veggie Tails came to be, but at first it was called "Lettuce Legion" as the person who originally came up with the idea of playing this game was named Lettuce. As time went on we'd recruit new members and later friends. Doing this would only solidify our small little corner of the world.

As I still play to this day, I still wonder what I'd be doing if I hadn't committed the time, effort, and money into this game haha! I wouldn't have met and made the few I call friends to this day.

This game definitely has its ups and downs, whether it be the story or the community, though I can't say much because I haven't been playing for long. To those who have and endured through this games rough patches, I commend you. I've had a break in the summer of 2024 due to personal reasons and the lack of passion in the game.

Joining friends who've recommended me this game for YEARS, and now being able to say I'm finally playing it was weird at first. Overall my thoughts on this game has changed, from being skeptical in trying it and diving right in, to enjoying the time spent on the game and despite my shy nature, being able to meet new people at times.

I'd say give it a go and try it out for yourself, you don't have to pay for a subscription just yet either! The free trial takes you up to I think level 70, which includes the Stormblood expansion.
